Chapter 6: Advanced Chassis Setup
6-1
6-6 Power Supply
The A+ Server 1012A-MRF has a single 200 watt power supply. This power supply
has the capability of operating at 100 - 240 input volts. If the power supply unit fails,
the system will shut down and you must replace the power supply unit. Replacement
units can be ordered directly from Supermicro.
Replacing the Power Supply
Replace a failed unit with another unit of the same wattage. It is highly recommended
that you replace it with the same model power supply.
1. Power down the system using the main power button on the front of the chas-
sis. Unplug the power cord from the system.
2. Remove the top chassis cover (instructions in this chapter).
3. Remove the two screws on the back of the power supply, which secure it to
the chassis. You can then lift the unit straight out of the chassis.
4. Insert the new unit into position in the chassis and secure it with the two
screws at the rear of the unit.
5. If there is a power switch on the power supply unit, make sure it is in the off
position before reconnecting the power cord.
6. Replace the chassis top cover and push the unit back into the rack.
7. Power up the system. Turn on the power switch on the power supply, and
then press the power button on the front of the system.
