1-2 Motherboard Features
At the heart of the SuperServer 5018D-MTLN4F lies the -LN4F, a single
processor motherboard based on the Intel® C224 chipset. Below are the main
features of the -LN4F (see Figure 1-1 for a block diagram of the chipset).
Processors
The -LN4F supports a single Intel Xeon E3-1200 v3/v4 and 4th Generation
Core i3, Pentium, Celeron processors in an H3 (LGA1150) socket. Please refer to
the motherboard description pages on our web site for a complete listing of sup-
ported processors.
Memory
The -LN4F has four DIMM sockets that can support up to 32 GB of Un-
buffered ECC DDR3-1600/1333 memory. Please refer to Chapter 5 for installing
memory.
Serial ATA
An on-chip SATA controller is integrated into the -LN4F to provide four
SATA 3.0 (6 Gb/s) ports and two SATA 2.0 (3 Gb/s) ports.
I/O Ports
The rear I/O ports include one COM port, a VGA (monitor) port, four USB 2.0 ports,
and four gigabit Ethernet ports. A dedicated IPMI LAN port is also included.
