Chapter 3: Maintenance and Component Installation
Memory Support
The SBI-6119R-C3N/T3N SuperBlade modules support up to 512 GB RDIMM/LRDIMM of
DDR4 2666 MHz speed, 8 GB, 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB size SDRAM memory in eight
288-pin DIMM sockets per node. See Section 2-4: Memory Installation for further details on
motherboard memory installation.
Hard Disk Drives
The SBI-6119R-C3N/T3N blade modules accommodate up to three 2.5" SATA/SSD/NVMe
hard disk drives, which are mounted in drive “trays”. The drives can be hot-swapped and
removed or replaced without powering down the blade unit they reside in. The three drives
can be used to set up a RAID 0, 1 and 5 array. These drives use a blue color for the Blade
HDD active LED. See Chapter 1 for information on RAID Setup.
Additional drives can be added by a module card mounted in the front.
For RAID setup see

Guides for details.
Caution:
To maintain proper airflow, both hard drive bays must have drive carriers inserted
during operation whether or not a drive is installed in the tray.
Warning:
Enterprise level hard disk drives are recommended for use in Supermicro chassis
and servers. For information on recommended HDDs, visit the Supermicro website at
