C-3 Introduction to the BPN-SAS-733TQ Backplane
The BPN-SAS-733TQ backplane has been designed to utilize the most up-to-date
technology available, providing your system with reliable, high-quality performance.
This manual reflects BPN-SAS-733TQ Revision 3.00, the most current release avail -
able at the time of publication. Always refer to the Supermicro Web site at www.su-
permicro.com for the latest updates, compatible parts and supported configurations.
Overview
The BPN-SAS-733TQ backplane is a highly efficient, highly compatible and easy
to use SES-2 backplane that offers the most advanced functionality provided by
the Serial Attached/Serial Link industry in a slim package. With the built-in AMI
MG 9071 chip, the BPN-SAS-733TQ Backplane allows the user to configure RAID
0, RAID 1 and RAID 5, maximizing data storage capability and data transferring
reliability. Additionally, the BPN-SAS-733TQ supports SATA up to 6 Gbps and
SAS up to 6Gbps with *SES-2 (SCSI Enclosure Services-2) capabilities, providing
complete Serial Attached Services and Serial Link Solutions to the market. (*Refer

Backplane Features
The BPN-SAS-733TQ Backplane supports the following features when it is installed
on a motherboard that has an onboard SAS controller:
