Chapter 4: Motherboard Connections
Chapter 4
Motherboard Connections
This section describes the connections, jumpers and LED indicators on the motherboard and
provides pinout definitions. Not all connections are required. A motherboard layout indicating
component locations may be found in
.
Please review the Safety Precautions in
before installing or removing components.
4.1 Power Connections
The power connections on the H12SSG-AN6 (JPRW1 and JPRW2) are automatically made
when the motherboard node is installed into the chassis.
4.2 Headers and Connectors
M.2 Slots (JM2_A1, JM2_B1)
The M.2 slots are for Solid State Devices (SSDs) that conform to the PCIe M.2 specifications
(formerly known as NGFF). These M.2 slots supports M-Key PCIe 4.0 storage cards with
form factors of 2242, 2260, 2280, and 22110.
TPM Header/Port 80 Connector (TPM Port)
The JTPM2 header is used to connect a Trusted Platform Module (TPM), which is available from
a third-party vendor. A TPM is a security device that supports encryption and authentication in
hard drives. It enables the motherboard to deny access if the TPM associated with the hard
drive is not installed in the system.
