7 - General information about the awning fabric
Awning fabrics are high-performance products made from acrylic fibre. Nevertheless,
even with the current state of technology and the requirements of environmental
protection, there are limits to their perfection. Certain aspects of the fabric, about
which there are occasional complaints, are possible despite sophisticated production
and processing technology.
Basically, these effects occur to varying degrees in almost all awning fabrics.
However, they do not reduce the quality of the fabrics in any way.
In order to avoid any annoyance, we would like to provide you with the relevant
consumer information expressly to point out the following properties: *
-
Creases form during the manufacture and folding of the awning fabrics. This
can lead to surface effects (pigment shifts) in the folds, especially with light
colours, which appear darker (like streaks of dirt) when viewed against the
light. They do not reduce the value or usability of the canopy.
-
Chalk effects are light stripes that form on finished goods during processing
and cannot always be completely avoided even with the greatest care. These
too are therefore not a reason for complaint.
-
Resistance to rain: Acrylic and polyester awning fabrics for protection against
the sun are impregnated to make them water-repellent and with a minimum
slope of 14° can withstand light, brief rain. In the event of heavy or prolonged
rain, awnings must be retracted to avoid damage. Awnings rolled up wet
should be extended again to allow them to dry as soon as possible.
-
Ripples in the hem, seam and panel area is caused by multiple layers of the
fabric and different winding thicknesses on the roller. The resulting tension in
the fabric can trigger ripples (e.g. waffle or herringbone patterns).
-
The sewing thread of the fabric does not have to be of the same colour as the
part of the fabric in which the seam is located.
