How to start your oil fur

nace

The operation of the oil bur

ner is entirely automatic. To

start it, set the room thermostat above room tempera-
ture. The oil burner will start automatically. If the burner
fails to start check the following:

1. Make sure valve at oil tank is open to allow oil to burner.

2. Make sure “Furnace” switch is “ON”. This switch is

usually mounted in a convenient location on a wall or
partition near the furnace.

3. Check electrical service panel and make sure breaker

is not tripped or fuse is blown - Replace with correct
amperage fuse only.

4. If item 1, 2, and 3 are okay, press “RESET” button on

oil burner ONCE ONLY.

5. If unit fails to start call a qualified service man.

Note:

If your fur

nace is to be shut down for an extended period

of time, oil valve at oil tank must be closed. Before
restarting your furnace, be sure to turn oil valve on.
Proceed to instructions on “How To Start Your Oil
Furnace”. If unit fails to start, call a qualified service man.

To maintain maximum operating efficiency and comfort
from your Summeraire Furnace, it should be serviced at
least once a year by a licenced burner mechanic. The fol-
lowing maintenance procedures should be performed by
the service man.

1. Heat exchanger and combustion chamber should be

checked for any type of damage or abnormal wear.

2. Blower and fan assembly should be checked for

lubrication, belt condition, pulley wear and alignment.

3. Set up burner using combustion testing equipment

to “0” smoke.

4. Change oil filter cartridge (in oil filter at oil tank).

5. Replace oil nozzle with one specified for unit.

6. Check operation of limit control.
