TROUBLESHOOTING
7.1 TROUBLESHOOTING TABLE
The information contained in the Troubleshooting
Guide has been compiled from field report data and
factory experience. It contains symptoms and usual
causes for the described problems. However, DO
NOT assume that these are the only problems that
may occur. All available data concerning a problem
should be systematically analyzed before
undertaking any repairs or component replacement
procedures. A detailed visual inspection is worth
performing for almost all problems and may avoid
unnecessary additional damage to the compressor.
Always remember to: 1. Check for loose wiring. 2.
Check for damaged piping. 3. Check for parts
damaged by heat or an electrical short circuit, usually
apparent by discoloration or a burnt odor. Should
your problem persist after making the recommended
check, consult your nearest Sullair representative.
Symptom Probable Cause Remedy
Operation of rejected and recovered air
dampers is reversed. Connectors from control
box connected to incorrect
actuators at enclosure. Reconnect and match proper
connectors from control box
to those at actuators. Con-
nectors at both ends are
labeled.
Wiring error at temperature
controller, control relay 1,
control relay 3 or plug and
sockets. Rewire. Refer to wiring dia-
gram.
Thermostat set incorrectly. Set to HEAT mode
Confirm desired temperature
setting.
Outside air temperature
controller set incorrectly. Set to HEAT mode
Confirm desired temperature
setting.
