This is adjusted on the proportional controller (
). This temperature setpoint determines the
temperature of the air which enters the cooler. The
mixed air set temperature is typically set to a
standard ambient temperature, 75°F(24°C) for
example. This is done to keep the enclosure warm
and prevent freezing.
The temperature of the recovered air can be
controlled by adjusting the mixed air set temperature.

for a chart of temperature rise of the
cooling air across the cooler. The recovered air
temperature is the sum of the mixed air temperature
and the temperature rise across the cooler.
The mixed air set temperature should never be set
below 40°F(4.5°C) to prevent problems with
aftercooler freeze up. Additionally, the mixed air set
temperature should not be set above 105°F(40°C)
which could lead to the machine overheating.
