•
Remove the spacer (yellow for XJT model, green for XJS model);
•
Insert the sea ballast (23) by inserting it along the pin (13) and also inserting it in the anti-rotation pin (16 - Fig.
5);
•
If it is necessary to insert the ballast 23A: unscrew the two captive nuts with wrench N ° 7, insert the ballast (s)
and screw the captive nuts (see Fig. 8).(If ballast 23A is already present, it must not be removed).
•
Insert the spacer (yellow / green) and the battery (taking care to connect the red connector if you intend to use
the scooter immediately);
•
Screw the ring nut (11 - Fig.3) and close the scooter (see paragraph "Closing the battery compartment").
It is also possible to vary the trim with respect to the one set in the factory, by moving the battery along the pin (13 -
fig. 8):
•
remove the battery,
•
loosen the dowel (21) with a 4 mm hex wrench,
•
unscrew or screw the ring nut (22): by screwing it the Scooter tends to position itself with the "stern" sinking,
unscrewing it will have the opposite effect,
•
screw the grain (21) back without forcing,
•
reinsert the battery,
•
check the trim of the scooter in the water.
Repeat the operation until the desired setting is achieved.
Entering the water is one of the most delicate moments in the dive. Various factors like the change in temperature,
use of scuba equipment, the weight of the equipment and other difficulties make the addition of the SCOOTER an
inevitable added task loading.
14.
ENTERING THE WATER WITH THE SCOOTER
Before turning on or using the SCOOTER, make sure that all the equipment in use
for the dive is correctly positioned and in good working order. Only use the
SCOOTER after completing these checks. Incorrect dive preparation is highly
dangerous and, in some situations, the SCOOTER may represent an additional
hazard.
Pay particular attention when entering rough sea since waves could lift and launch
the SCOOTER against the diver with even fatal consequences. Never activate the
SCOOTER until the diver is in the water and prepared to begin the dive.
AFTER entering the water and have submersed the SCOOTER, the main switch can be switched ON.
The SCOOTER must only be switched on when it is in the water: spinning the
propeller in the air can be dangerous and damage the hydraulic seal of the motor
shaft.
Once into the water, pull the trigger (toward the diver) to activate the propeller.
Releasing the trigger stops the propeller.
15.
"PARKING" THE SCOOTER UNDERWATER
When diving you may need to “park” the SCOOTER to continue the dive with fins only, recovering the SCOOTER
later.
