The diver must be able, at any time, to intervene on the cruise control knob, on the
trigger and on the switch in order to avoid any type of collision or dragging the
diver into dangerous areas.
The knob cruise control (43) (see fig.7), must only be used
under the diver’s
maximum control. The knob, trigger or DPV ignition switch must be accessible at
all times to avoid any type of collision or driver dragging risks in hazardous areas.
The knob must only be used to lock speed, adjusted to 50% of available power at
best. Locking DPV ignition at maximum power is potentially hazardous.
During the normal DPV use the knob must be positioned in such a way as to allow
the trigger to move freely and will not interfere the normal return of the trigger.
Only use the knob with fingers.
IN ANY CASE, PAY THE UTMOST ATTENTION DURING CRUISE CONTROL KNOB
USE SINCE THIS OPERATION COULD BE POTENTIALLY HAZARDOUS.
13.
SCOOTER DIVING SETTINGS
The trim of the SCOOTER must be NEUTRAL and in an almost horizontal position. This means that it must remain
at the desired depth without sinking or floating and in a horizontal position.
The SCOOTER is supplied with neutral buoyancy in fresh water.
By adding the sea ballast (23 - 23A, Fig.8), supplied, the Scooter can be adapted for use in salt water.
13.1. INSERTING THE BALLAST
Fig.8 (view of the Scooter without the outer casing)
As shown in fig. 8, the XJ Scooter (both the XJT model and the XJS model) is equipped with the 23A ballast. If
necessary, based on the salinity of the water, it is possible to further adjust the trim of the scooter by also adding the
ballast 23.
To insert the sea ballast proceed as follows:
•
Remove the nosecone and the battery from the scooter (see paragraph "Opening the battery compartment");
When turning the Main switch ON, be sure that nor the trigger is pulled (fig. up -
b/c) or the cruise control knob is engaged.
When the trigger is pulled or cruise control knob is engaged the DPV does not
start even when the Main ON/OFF switch is in ON position.
