Press down spring-loaded stitch adjusting knob 144.0156 with the left
hand. This knob is on the back of the machine head.

Turn handwheel to the right until stitch setting knob 144.0156 catches.

Turn hand wheel to the left until the number on the hand wheel
corresponding to the required stitch length is opposite to the mark M

To change from blind stitch to through stitch the cloth bender or presser
181.00047 is equipped with a swiveling supplementary presser 181.0017.
In Fig. 4 this supplementary presser which covers the presser 181.0047 has
swung backwards and is out of action, setting the presser 181.0047 for blind
stitching.
For through stitching let down the cover plate 113.0004 (113.0005) which is on
the front of the head of the cloth support (Fig. 1). Then lift the spring-loaded
end of the supplementary presser 181.0017 out of the groove with the finger on
the extension of the presser 181.0047 (as shown in Fig. 4) and swing upwards
until it catches in the upper groove of the presser extension as in Fig. 5. As a
result, the supplementary presser 181.0017 swings forward and the presser
181.0047 is set for through stitching.
This procedure is reversed for switching from through stitching to blind stitching.
