10.3 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FAULTS
Possible
cause
:
Remedy:
OWN
- the voltmeter displays a voltage higher than 11,5 v
- faulty or run-down battery,
charge or replace the battery
A&P
- battery trouble, short-circuit
- remove the short-circuit and
replace the battery
TS
- the voltmeter displays a voltage higher than 14 v
- the starter pinion is worn or
faulty overhaul starter
TS
- the voltmeter displays a voltage of
12 v instead of 13,75 v
- alternator failure - overhaul
TS
- the starter does not run when inserting the ignition
lock key
- interrupted or broken starter
coil, or inactive starter relay –
overhaul starter or replace
relay, check the starter fuse
TS
- the starter does not run and makes noise when
inserting the ignition lock key
- the starter pinion is worn out or
faulty
overhaul starter
A&P
- inoperative electrical instruments
- the battery is down, or the
instrument fuse is broken
A&P
- inoperative fuel level indicator
- check transmitter in the tank
and wirings – check fuses
TS
- overvoltage relay troubles
- replace the relay, the
generator does not charge the
battery

- inoperative electric fuel pump
- check fuse, replace electric
pump
A&P
- inoperative trim indicator
- check wirings - replace
A&P
- inoperative electrical trim on control stick
- check switch between the two
control sticks, if necessary

check wirings on control

- radio noises
- check high voltage cables of
spark plugs, if necessary
replace with suitable cables
A&P
- inoperative anticollision lights, navigation lights,
landing light
- check fuses, check lamps and
replace if necessary
