Reassembly of the fluid pump (continued)
13. Pick up the packing holder (20) and replace the white o-ring (24) and the black o-ring (25) with new o-rings from
the packing set.
14. Push the packing holder (20) over the top part of the upper packings so that they fit inside.
15. Lubricate the inside of the fluid pump housing (4) and the outside of the packings with piston oil.
16. Push the whole assembly into the liquid pump housing.
NOTE:
To secure the packings in the correct position you must hold the pump housing upside down and push the entire assem-
bly upward into the liquid pump housing. After positioning the assembly in the inside, tilt the pump housing back to
keep all the parts in the inside of the pump housing.
17. Tighten the gland nut (21) on the top of the liquid pump housing until you feed slight resistance against the disc
springs (16). Tighten the nut another three quarter turn using the packing adjustment tool.
18. Continue fitting the fluid pump.
Important: replace all inlet valve units modified from
DOM 06.2013 in all flexible LP-460 and LP-540 flex
intake systems at positions 157, 158, 159, 160 with 5, 6,
7, 8.
