First Flight
Have you secured your rudder pull/pull crimps with thin CA? If not do not due this now.
For your initial flight balance aircraft ¼” aft of the main spar cap strip (measured at R1). For more advanced
maneuvers you may slowly move the CG back to the point illustrated on the plan sheet. Tip: Balance model
upside down.
Prior to heading off to the field, sight along wings and tail surfaced and remove warps if found.
Set control surface throws.
Suggested initial rates
Elevator +/- 1/2 "
Ai/- 3/8"
/- 1"
Choose a calm day for your maiden trim flight!
Slowly advance throttle – due to the long tail moment you may find it best to make nice long takeoff runs instead
of motoring into the air within a few feet.
Trim the plane for level flight then begin checking the responsiveness of each surface – adjust to suit your flying
style.
The
Dystraction Micro
F3A slows down nicely for landings; however, make your first landings with slight power-
on until you are familiar with the aircraft’s stall.
