Final Assembly

‰

Final sand and trim the entire model with Ultracote Lite, Nelson Lite-Film or Solar Film So-Lite.

‰

Cut CA hinge material into small strips as detailed on the plan sheet.

‰

Determine hinge points for control surfaces then pre-slot elevator, rudder, and wing assemblies at hinge points
to accept CA hinges

‰

First, Slide elevator into fuselage.  Then, insert the horizontal stabilizer.  Center the stabilizer and secure with
thin CA.

‰

Fit CA hinges to elevator to horizontal stabilizer - secure with thin CA.  Insert 1/16” ply control horn into
horizontal stabilizer on the same side as your push / pull servo linkage – secure with thin CA.

‰

The vertical stabilizer keys into the aft section of the turtle deck and the groove in the aft end of the fuselage.
Carefully key the vertical stabilizer into place and secure with thin CA.

‰

Fit CA hinges to rudder and vertical stabilizer – secure with thin CA.  Insert 1/16” ply control horn into rudder on
the same side as your push / pull servo linkage - secure with thin CA.

‰

Test fit main gear – simply friction fit to the channel in the wing – sand the gear spade if necessary to obtain a
good fit.  Gear may be retained by placing a thin strip of packing tape over slot or by pinning the assembly from
within the wing.

‰

Fit CA hinges to ailerons and wing – secure with thin CA.

‰

Slip the 1/16” ply aileron control horn into the appropriate position on the aileron (see plan sheet for details).
Secure with thin CA.

‰

Install tailskid / tail wheel assembly bracket  – secure bracket to bottom of fuselage using 5 minute epoxy.

‰

Fit cowl and canopy to fuselage and secure as indicated previously.

‰

Battery Hatch:  Run a length of clear tape along both the inside and outside edge of one half of the hatch
creating a very durable hinge.  For the latch cut a small length of tape and fold over one end, creating a grab
tab, affix to hatch spanning fuselage – hatch gap.

‰

Finish model with tail wheel, main wheels, and wheel pants  The hubs of each wheel may need to be drilled to
the appropriate inside diameter for your application.

Radio Gear

‰

Install servos in the appropriate positions.

‰

Using your completed airframe as a guide make up two aileron push rods from the 047” wire stock.  Place a
single Z bend at one end and use the provided E/Z connectors on the servo arms to center/adjust the surface.

‰

Apply adhesive back Velcro (not included) to battery tray.  Mount battery with Velcro to BT1 battery tray. The
supplied RED/BLACK Velcro tie wrap is intended to augment the adhesive back mounting system – not
substitute it.

‰

Mount receiver with Double Sided Tape or Velcro within the fuselage as appropriate for your radio installation.

‰

Install your power system as detailed by the manufacture of your motor / ESC.

‰

Trim the provided spinner to match your propeller –

never run a prop that has not been balanced or is out of

track.
