Final Assembly Continued
Landing Gear Continued
120. Open the covering over the slot in the bottom of the fuselage, and mount the
landing gear.
121. Retain the landing gear by wrapping one #32 rubber band several times
around the bend in the landing gear and the dowel on each side of the
fuselage.
122. Open the two holes near the tail on the bottom side of the fuselage with a
warm soldering iron. Bond the nylon tail skid [DUB853] in the holes with thin
CA. Make sure the skid is pointing towards the BACK of the model.
Windscreen
123. Fold the supplied acetate windscreen along the two perforated lines.
position the windscreen on the model and hold in place with low-tack
masking tape. Retain the windscreen with canopy glue, or by CAREFULLY
applying small drops of medium CA around the edges of the acetate.
Tail Surfaces
124. Follow the tape hinge diagrams on the “Buzz 400 Detail Sheet” and attach
the rudder and elevator to their respective stabilizing surfaces. ensure that
the rudder and elevator are free to move in either direction.
125. Open the holes in the covering of the rudder and elevator with a warm
soldering iron. Determine which side of the horizontal stabilizer/elevator will
be the top - usually the side that the tape hinge is on - and open only the
holes on the
left
side of the elevator.
126. Fit the control horns to the rudder and elevator. The rudder horn extends
from the
right
side of the rudder. The elevator horn extends from the
lower
left
side of the elevator.
127. Fit the retention plates over the posts of the control horns, and press them
down firmly against the control surface.
