compressed air may therefore be used, or air from a compressor.
The air must be free from polluting particles, such as oil or other
contaminating agents. A pressure regulator is provided to ensure the
correct air flow rate on the torch.
AIR CIRCUIT: for the components of the air circuit see FIG. 2
KEY:
1
–
Air filter
2
–
Reducer (pressure regulator)
3
–
Pressure gauge
4- Pressure switch
5
–
Solenoid valve1
6
–
Solenoid valve2
A pressure higher than 5 bar (5-5.5 bar) must be applied to the air
filter located on the rear panel of the THOR. The pressure must not
exceed 6 bar. The pressure regulator 1 is set by the manufacturer at
4,3. bar. Check the pressure by pressing the Air Test button (part 5
FIG. 1 page 8) on the front panel and check that the pressure gauge
gives a reading of 4.3 bar. If it should be necessary to regulate the
pressure, refer to the regulating procedure in the
TROUBLESHOOTING section.
Pay particular attention to the pneumatic connection tubes because
any choking of the tubes or excessive lengths may cause problems
during the cutting process.
A pressure switch set at 3 bar inhibits operation when the output
pressure of the reducer is insufficient to guarantee operation.
