Fault Description
Cause/Remedy
Sheets of the finished pamphlet are not
properly bound.
•
Be certain to carefully jog the paper prior to
binding (use electric paper jogger) and when
placing into book clamp make sure each sheet of
paper lies smoothly on the surface of the heat
plate and push the book block fully to right prior to
binding.
•
Book block spine was over-heated from resting on
the heating plate longer than the 20 second
binding cycle time. Position book block in clamp
and start the binding process and insert strip
immediately. Remove the bound book
immediately after the bind cycle is completed and
place properly in cooling tray.
The Binding Strip isn't fed into the machine
properly.
•
Infeed failure caused by too large of a
deformation or curling of Binding Strip.
•
Smooth Binding Strips or use new strips.
•
Remove Binding Strip, adhesive residues on the
heating plate and at the infeed area. IF THE
BINDING STRIP DOES NOT FEED FULLY, DO
NOT PULL IT BACKWARDS OUT OF THE TAPE
OPENING. INSTEAD, OPEN THE TOP COVER
AND REMOVE THE PARTIALLY FED STRIP BY
GUIDING IT OUT TOWARD THE LEFT.
CAUTION:
THE HEAT PLATE IS HOT AND IS A
BURN HAZARD.
•
Check the infeed rollers for dirt and clean, if
necessary.
The Binding Strip has been fed acciden-
tally with the glued side facing downwards.
•
Instead of retracting the Binding Strip, open the
cover and remove the Binding Strip on the left
side out of the infeed unit.
•
Clean heating plate and infeed unit and remove
adhesive residues. DO NOT USE BINDER UNTIL
ALL ADHESIVE RESIDUE IS REMOVED OR
JAMMING MAY OCCUR.
STOP button has been pressed during an
operation cycle. Device stops.
•
Press START button. Device returns to initial
position.
Heating plate is soiled with adhesive /
paper dust.
•
Clean heating plate with a dry lint free cloth.
Follow cleaning procedure. Caution: Heat Plate is
a burn hazard.
After binding, Binding Strip has a lateral
excess length at the left side.
•
Check paper size and binding strip length for
equal lengths.
