5.2 

STANDBY Mode - Automatic and Manual energy-saving modes  

The device switches automatically to energy-saving STANDBY mode with a lower heating plate tem-
perature if it has been idle for more than approx.1 hour (the LEDs A, B, C are switched-off and the 
LEDs D, E, F remain on).  

If the device has not been used for more than approx. 3 hours, it is switched into a sleep mode with 
switched-off heating (the LEDs A, B, C, D, E are turned off, LED F remains on to display the room 
temperature).  

To manually activate the STANDBY mode, press the STANDBY button. The device is immediately 
switched to energy-saving mode with reduced temperature of heating plate. 

After pressing the STANDBY button again and a short heating period, the device is ready for opera-
tion again (START button LED is on).
