Work steps
Explanation
Switch off the voltage supply.
Switch off the voltage supply before working on the
device.
Open the enclosure.
• Loosen the cover screws.
• Remove the cover and place it to the side.
• Keep the cover screws in a safe place.
Strip the conductors.
• Take care not to damage the cable shielding.
• Take care not to damage the cable cores.
Insert the cables into the enclosure.
• Route the cables through the cable entries
into the enclosure.
• Tighten the cable entries.
• Note the tightening torque.
Strip the conductor.
• Stripping length: 7 mm
• Take care not to damage the conductor.
Insert the conductor into the terminals and
clamp in place.
• Press on the core end sleeves using a
suitable tool.
• The conductor insulation must reach to the
terminals.
• Tighten the terminals to the
specified tightening torque.
Tightening torque: 0.5 to 0.6 Nm
Connect the trunk.
• "TRUNK IN" terminals: "+", "-", "S"
• "TRUNK OUT" terminals: "+", "-", "S"
• "TRUNK IN": Trunk input cable.
• "TRUNK OUT": Outgoing lead for looping
through the trunk.
• Terminal "S": Shield, assignment depending
on the type of earthing.
• After closing the IP30 cover, swivel it down
until it audibly snaps into place!
Connect the spurs.
SPUR 1: "+", "-", "S"
SPUR 2: "+", "-", "S"
to
SPUR 8: "+", "-", "S"
• Only one field device should be connected
per spur connection.
• Terminal "S": Shield, assignment depending
on the type of earthing.
Connect the cable shields.
See chapter "Earthing".
Earth the enclosure.
Earth the metal field enclosure via the shortest
possible route.
Activate the trunk EOL resistor (terminator).
Only required in the last field device coupler of the
trunk. See chapter "EOL resistor (terminator)".
