11 Test Unit Ready—00h
Command Description
The
TEST UNIT READY
command determines if the library is on and ready to accept
commands. This command is not a request for a library self-test. The library performs a
self-test during power-on or in response to a
SEND DIAGNOSTIC
command.
The table below shows the CDB for the
TEST UNIT READY
command.
This command returns a
GOOD
status if the library is ready to accept a
command.
This command returns
CHECK CONDITION
status with
UNIT ATTENTION
(6h) in the sense key after
power-up and after a power-on reset, or a check condition with appropriate sense key
for the error conditions. This explains why a motion command may not be executed.
