8 Position To Element—2Bh
Command Description
The
POSITION TO ELEMENT
command requests the tape picker to position itself at a specific
element address.
No movement occurs for a
POSITION TO ELEMENT
command. This command does not
significantly reduce the access time for loading or unloading a tape drive. This
command is included for compatibility with other media changer devices; an illegal
command is not returned by the library if the host software issues this command, but
no robotic motion occurs.

POSITION TO ELEMENT
command.
Note:
The library does not move its tape picker in response to this
command.
