The pump can be damaged if it runs dry.
Î
Ensure that the pump is full of water. This also applies to checking
the rotation direction.
6.1 Filling self-priming pump with water
1. Remove lid, see Chapter 8.1, page 49.
High concentrations of water treatment chemicals can damage the
pump!

Do not place water treatment products, particularly in tablet form, for
example chlorine tablets, into the strainer basket.
2. Fill pump with clean water up to the inlet connection.
Î
To make it easier to open the lid the next time, tighten the lid by
hand only.
3. Replace the lid and tighten it by hand.
6.2 Checking how easily the pump rotates
After longer idle periods, the pump must be check for how easily it
rotates while it is switched off.
Î
Place screwdriver in the groove on the end of the motor shaft on the
fan side and turn it clockwise.

If there is not a groove on the end of the motor shaft: Remove fan
cover and turn the fan wheel in the motor rotation direction
manually.
6.3 Switching on the pump
Prerequisites:
y Strainer basket is installed, where applicable.
y Lid is fitted securely.
1. Open the valve on the intake side completely.
2. Only open the valve on the delivery side
halfway .
