Connect first the corrugated hose to the face piece.
≠
Make sure the air arrives in the hood and don it.
≠
Adjust head harness and chin strap by means of the sliding buckle to reach a correct fit of the hood on
the head.
≠
Slide the pull strings to achieve a good sealing around the neck. Fix strings by means of the special buckle.
≠
Adapt the waistcoat and fix it by means of the waist belt.
FOR AC 190-ACS 951
≠
Extend the harness to the maximum length, while holding the hood with model
ACS
.
≠
Wear the mask positioning first the chin in its special seat and then don the mask.
≠
Place the head harness so that the arms lay down in the direction of the buckles.
≠
Pull straps until you feel a uniform, though comfortable, pull on the face.
≠
The straps automatically stop in the correct position. It is advisable to pull the cheek straps first, then the
temple and finally the front. To release straps, gently lift the buckle tab.
≠
Connect the corrugated hose TUR 609 to the mask for ACS 951 respirator.
≠
Connect the corrugated hose TUR 60 to the overflow valve and then to the mask for AC 190 respirator.
5.
CLEANING AND STORAGE
5.1 Facepieces
The rubber used is age resistant and therefore no special care is required for storage, it is advisable, though,
to keep respirators in their original packing and store them away from chemical vapours and heat sources and
preferably at temperatures between -20 and +50 °C.
After use masks and hoods of
AC
respirators shall be cleaned with a soft cloth to remove sweat and condensate.
If they are really dirty, they can be washed with a mild detergent in lukewarm water. The hood and the waist-
coat can be brushed with a soft brush. Special care shall be put in the cleaning of exhale valves which are par-
ticularly likely to wear out and shall be replaced whenever they show signs of deterioration.
5.2 EOD 55 silencer filter
The
EOD 55
shall be frequently replaced, since particles that may be present in the feeding compressed air
can obstruct the filter thus impeding air to flow across.
5.3 AC 95 Flow regulator
The
AC 95
regulator does not require special care. It is enough to clean it with an air jet, particularly before
replacing the filter.
6.
MAINTENANCE
6.1 ACS 951 Respirator
6.1.1
Lens cleaning and replacing
By hands pull the eye piece rim apart and extract the lens, clean or replace it if necessary. Inside the mask,
behind the glass lens, there is a safety polycarbonate lens. The replacement depends on its transparency.
WARNING:
NEVER USE THE MASK WITHOUT POLYCARBONATE LENSES NOR INVERT THE POSITION-
ING OF THE TWO DISKS. DOING SO, IT MAY ENDANGER YOUR EYES.
6.1.2
Replacement and cleaning of exhale valve
• Pull the protective PVC cap out.
• Unscrew the valve cover.
• Take the valve seat out.
• Clean or replace the valve membrane.
6.1.3
Head Harness
The head harness can be removed by pulling the straps out of the buckle loop. The buckles can be also
