1-8. Updating the Firmware
Update the firmware of this unit from a personal computer through the USB interface.
For details of firmware update, contact your local Sony Sales Office/Service Center.
Equipment/Tools
• Personal computer (PC)
• Mini USB cable: Part number 1-828-544-12
• Update software
• Latest-version firmware

• DC power cable
Note
For power supply and DC power cable, refer to “1-1. Power Supply” .
Preparation
If a PC is connected to this unit for the first time, a driver must be installed in the PC. For details, refer to the readme
file supplied with the update software.
Firmware Update Procedure
1. Check that the DC power cable is unplugged from the DC IN connector on the rear of the unit.
2. Remove the screw to detach the USB cover.
3. Connect the PC to the maintenance USB connector on the unit with a mini USB cable.
Note
Three ports of maintenance USB connector are provided for the AVP-18 board (camera A), AVP-18 board (camera
B), and KY-687 board.
Check each port referring to the following figure and update the firmware.

4. Connect the DC power cable to the DC IN connector and turn on the power.
