If you wish to playback audio material without the need for the transcription window, select 
‘View->Small Player’ from the menu.  

The small player gives you control over the audio play-out, volume control and use of the 
foot pedal control.

To return to the full window for track selection, select ‘View->Full Player’ from the menu.
