Licencing and Dongles

D:Scribe Server uses a USB dongle to unlock the full features and functionality of
the software.

The software can be used for demonstration and evaluation purposes without a dongle, but
with limited functionality.

When using D:Scribe Server without a dongle, a screen reminding you of the limited
functionality will be shown periodically.

Limited functionality precludes multiple clients attaching to the server for transcription
purposes. Also, connections to Net-Log units for archival purposes is limited to one.

Setup

Select ‘Tools->Settings’ from the main menu to display the Settings screen. (See Fig 3-2).
This screen is used to enter the list of Net-Logs on your network and also emailing
configuration information. The software can send an email to a defined address via a SMTP
address based on the Net-Log alarms, an error or just a status update.
