GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Your SOMMERKAMP T S -5030P transceiver has been désignée! for continuous heavy
duty basestation application. The TS -5030P is for 220V, 50Hz operation.
RECEIVER SECTION
The TS -5030P receiver is desîgned to receive amplitude modulated (A M /A 3) signais
in the 26,965 to 27,275 MHz (11 m eter) citizen band. The unique combination of a
mechanical ceramic filte r and LC filte rs provides 50db atténuation to the adjacent
channels.
This extrem ely sensitive receiver am plifies the signal from the antenna jack more
than 100 million tim es, due to the application of very high gain, low noise transistors
in all stages, and not only as usual in the front end RF am plifier, but also in all IF
and mixer stages and in the audio stages.
To obtain this sensitivity, the powersupply is regulated with a sériés voltage regu­
lator and in addition the supply of the RF and IF stages of the receiver is once
more regulated by an extrem ely Sharp c u tto ff Zener diode.
The TS -5030P contains in addition a floating sériés gâte, ful ly autom atic noise
lim iter, which virtually turns o ff the audio output during the presence of ignition
noise in the signal.
TRAN SM ITTER SECTION
Your T S -5030P tra n s m itte r has been designed for continuos heavy duty transmission
of amplitude modulated (A M /A 3) signais the 26,965 to 27,275 MHz (11 m eter)
citizen band.
The TS -5030P tra n s m itte r consists of 2 crystal conrolled osciliators incorporating
11 crystals. The Outputs, which are synthesised in a dass B mixer, followed by 2
dass C buffer stages and a highly effic ie n t collector modulated driver stage,
which is coupled via a sériés LC and a double pi match filte r with matching trans­
form er to the bases of the two final output transistors. These transistors are
high power, high tem pérature transistors with a stabilised base powersupply. The
output matching is done by a sériés LC and a double pi match filte r.
DELTA TUNING
The Delta Tuning of your T S -5030P will compen'sate a receiving frequency by about
± 3 KHz, making it possible to enjoy communication with more clarity.
POWERSUPPLY
The powersupply consists of the heavy duty power transform er, two 4 diode füll
wave bridge re ctifie rs and two heavy duty voltage stabilisers. One for 13.5 Volt for
the receiver and low power tra n s m itte r sections and the other for the 28 Volt supply
of the final tra n s m itte r liniar power am plifier.
CLOCK
The digital dock in your T S -5030P transceiver is synchronîsed with the 50 Hz
frequency of the power line to achieve the highest possible accuracy.
