METHOD 2: Dial automatically from your application
Note: After you set up a dial-up connection, the Microsoft Connection Manager will
automatically try to connect whenever you insert the 56K Modem Card and try to
use a program that uses a dial-up connection (e.g., email, Internet).
1.
Start the program that uses a dial-up connection. Enter a request for data
transfer (e.g., in Pocket Internet Explorer, enter a URL and tap the green arrow).
2.
Dialing will begin. The Power and Data LEDs will blink.
3.
If the
Network Log On
screen appears, enter the
Password
and tap
OK
.
4.
When the 56K Modem Card has connected to the network, the Link Status LED
will turn on, and the Pocket PC will transfer data (e.g., the requested website will
appear). The “x” will disappear from the connection icon (two arrows) at the top
of the screen.
If you installed the Socket Mobile software, a modem status icon will appear at
the bottom of the Today screen. The icon will be green when connected and red
when transmitting data.
Ending a Data Call
1.
Tap on the connection icon (two arrows)at the top of your screen.
2.
In the bubble, tap
Disconnect
.
3.
The connection icon will appear with an “x. If you installed the Socket Mobile
software, the modem status icon will turn red before disappearing.
