Quick
Connect
: Check if you would like to configure the modem for quick
connections from a particular phone line. The first time you connect from the
phone line, the modem will save the phone line’s settings, enabling quicker
connections in the future from the same phone line. This feature is helpful if
you plan to use the 56K Modem Card repeatedly with the same phone line.
This feature requires a V.92 Internet Service Provider (ISP).
Socket Mobile recommends that you disable Quick Connect if you plan
to use the modem with different phone lines. Otherwise, it may take
twice as long to establish a connection because the modem searches for
the previous line characteristics before trying to connect to a new line.
•
Modem-on-Hold
: Check if you would like to be able to identify and receive
incoming calls without dropping a network connection.
Modem-on-Hold requires a V.92 ISP, a line splitter, as well as Call
Waiting service from your phone company. If you would like the Pocket
PC to identify incoming calls, you also need Type 2 Caller ID service from
your phone company.
