Warm Engine Starting
Start the engine without any choke. If the engine will not start after
two pulls of the rope or two 5 second attempts with the electric
starter move choke lever to position 1. Start the engine without acti-
vating the throttle lever. As soon as the engine starts move the choke
lever to OFF.
Manual Starting
Install tether cord cap on DESS post. Turn on engine cut-out switch.
Grasp manual starter handle firmly and crank engine.
Emergency Starting
The engine can be started with the emergency starter rope supplied
with the tool kit.
Remove belt guard.
Attach emergency rope to rewind handle and to the starter clip sup-
plied in the tool box.
Use the spark plug socket as an emergency handle.
WARNING
Do not apply throttle while starting.
WARNING
Do not wind starting rope around your hand. Hold rope by the
handle only. Do not start the snowmobile by the drive pulley
unless it is a true emergency situation. Have the snowmobile
repaired as soon as possible.
