→ SPARK PLUG FOWLING, CARBON BUILD UP
Carbon build up is a symptom of poor air moment. The heater has been designed to have two
locations for the spark plug. From the factory, the plug is mounted in the optimum location for
spark in clean air. However, the second holder can be used when carbon appears repeatedly.
Situated between two upper flame spreaders, tilted at a slight angle, this holder should be used
if this problem occurs. While this will return your heater to operation, solving the overall
concern, poor airflow, should be addressed. Look for any object from the heater forward threw
the transition that could be causing unwanted static pressure, like bin floor stands mounted
directly in front of the outlet of the transition which can cause excess static pressure.
