After determining your temperature setting, and adjusting thermostat to reflect that, you are ready to
begin.
1.
Start fan and heater according to separate instruction in respective manuals. There will be a 45
second delay as the fan purges the heater of any fuel vapors.
2.
Red light located on heater control panel comes on.
3.
Unlock locking nut on heater regulator. Adjust gas pressure setting just high enough to satisfy the
low-fire side of thermostat.
CAUTION: Higher than necessary gas pressure setting will only result in shorter “on” cycles and will
not dry your grain any faster.
CAUTION: When ambient temperature drops, it may be necessary to increase the heater gas pressure
in order to satisfy the thermostat.
It may be necessary to adjust the gas pressure up as the ambient temperature drops to maintain a
preselected plenum temperature rise or plenum temperature.
4.
Watch several cycles to insure the heater is operating within the setting you have selected.
5.
Whenever shutting down your fan & heater system, always close the fuel source at the tank, draining
the lines, allow the heaters safety system to detect no flame and lock itself out.
6.
AFTER STEP 5 HAS BEEN COMPLETED- turn the heaters panel power switch to the off
position. Then shut down the fan.
TROUBLE SHOOTING GUIDE
Heater Will Not Fire:
Be sure thermostat has a set point higher than the ambient temperature; otherwise heater is in standby
mode.
Check all high limit switches (see Fig.2, page 37) to be sure they are closed. Press the red button located
on each high limit to insure they are engaged. There are three high limit switches located on all LP liquid
heaters and two on all super-low vapor units.
Check heater regulator to determine a gas flow is available and the fuel source valves are open. On LP
units- check valve on lower manifold to be sure it’s in the open position.
Remove High-Low Mounting plate to determine if sensing bulb is properly installed and undamaged.
Follow wiring back from bulb to thermostat, look for any breaks or damage.
Following the thermostat power cord back to the heater and into the control box; check ground wire
(green) is connected to ground lug on bottom of control box.
