2.3
Malfunctions
2.3.1 General
Before searching for possible causes of malfunction, one should check to see that all operations as specified in this
manual have been carried out correctly.
2.3.2 Causes for malfunctioning
The heater does not reach the desired temperature:
Possible cause
Remedy
a. Power not present:
Switch on the mains
b. Room thermostat set too low:
Change temperature setting
c. Thermostat setting correct:
Heater capacity is too low, place a second radiator or replace
by a radiator with a bigger capacity
d. Incorrect tension present:
Take care of a good voltage supply
e. Max. thermostat cuts out:
Caused by overheating
Detect and resolve the problem and reset the thermostat.
2.4
Repairs
2.4.1 Making the heater accessible for repair work
- Check whether the voltage has been switched off.
Open the connection housing as follows to make checks and repairs inside:
(See paragraph 2.1.2 for opening the explosion proof housing)
- Loosen the locking screw on the cover (use a 2 mm Allan key).
- Turn the cover anti-clockwise with the aid of a tool if necessary. (barrel key 110/115 mm diameter).
The screw cap and o-ring seal are greased with Molykote Longterm grease. Prevent this grease from becoming
dirty during repair.
