When sewing buttonholes on stretch fabric, hook gimp thread under the buttonhole foot.
1. Attach the buttonhole foot and hook the gimp
thread onto the back spur of the presser foot.
Bring the two gimp thread ends parallel to the
front of the foot and insert them into the
grooves, then temporarily tie them there.
Set the stitch width to match the diameter of the
gimp thread. Stitches will sew over top of thread.
Lower the presser foot and being sewing.
2. Once sewing is completed, carefully remove
gimp thread from buttonhole foot.
Pull the gimp thread gently to remove any slack,
then trim off any excess.
3. Pull the gimp thread to the wrong side of the
fabric using a hand sewing needle and tie.
4. Using a seam ripper, cut the middle part of the
gimp thread remaining at the top of the buttonhole.
Then trim off any excess.
Note:
It is suggested that you use inter-
facing on the backside of the fabric.
