Emergency battery – Storage mode
(G1 cylinders):
In storage mode, the cylinder can only
be opened with the aid of a
programming device (SmartCD).
Emergency battery – Freeze mode (G2
cylinders):
In freeze mode, an audible signal will
sound if an attempt is made to open
using an authorised transponder, but
the cylinder will not engage.
The G2 cylinder can now only be
opened using a battery replacement
transponder or programming device.
Active locking devices: The system
administrator can use a G2 battery
replacement transponder (freeze
mode transponder) for about 30
seconds to eliminate freeze mode
and open the door with a user
transponder to replace the
batteries.
SmartCard locking devices: The
system administrator can use a "G2
battery replacement card" (freeze
mode card) to permanently
eliminate the freeze mode
(including warning levels) and open
the door to change the batteries
using a user identification medium.
NOTE
After using a "G2 battery replacement medium" on locking devices, change
the batteries immediately. Otherwise, the locking device may fail com-
pletely due to empty batteries.
