Screw the bidirectional mounting plate and the magnet 

onto the wall, door or window frame. Open the basepla-

te of the magnet with a screwdriver.

The sensor should not be mounted directly on or near 

metal framing or other large metallic objects since metal 

objects may weaken the radio signal strength.

The sensor should only be placed indoors and away from 

water and other extreme weather conditions.

There are two ways to install it:

The opening/closing sensor can send a

command to nodes associated with 

group 2

0x00 --> to nodes associated with group 2 when motion alarm is trigge-

red and Send Basic set value = ON to nodes associated with group 2 when 

alarm is cancelled.

0xFF --> to nodes associated with group 2 when motion alarm is triggered 

and Send Basic set value = OFF to nodes associated with group 2 when 

alarm is cancelled.

1. Notification Report. Sensor will send Notification Report when the sensor body and mag-

1. Basic Set Sensor will send Basic Set when the sensor body and magnet removed or combined

The two parts of the sensor should be placed so that, 

when the door/window is closed, they are within 10mm 

of each other. By opening the door or window, the 

sensor body and magnet should separate in proximity.

Ensure that the orientation marks of the sensor body and the magnet are oriented towards 

each other.

Press the latch button to remove the cover from the sensor body.

Close the cover.

Attach the double-sided mounting tape to the covers 

and attach to the wall, door or window frame.

Download the Simon iO application. After creating the installation, go to “Devices” and 

click on add device, which can be found at the top right of the application.

Press for three seconds on the inclusion button and the LED will blink intermittently. Then 

close the cover.

BATTERY REPLACEMENT

The battery can last around two years under normal conditions. High temperatures, high humidity or 

other poor conditions may shorten battery lifespan. We recommend changing the battery promptly 

when low power indication occurs.

Opening/Closing Sensor is used for detecting the opening or closing of doors and windows.

on any Z-Wave network with other Z-Wave certified devices from other manufacturers. All non-ba-
