necessary to gently shake the dispenser against the SiliCycle MiniBlock, for the powder to fall into the reaction tubes.

TECH TIP
:
Some powder dispensing can be affected by static electricity. For best results,
use the anti-static grounding strap supplied with the resin dispenser. To use
the grounding strap, connect the alligator clip to the grounding screw located
on the Resin Dispenser Base. Remember, in order
for the grounding strap to work properly, you must
be standing on a grounded surface.
Figure 51: Dispensing Powder
The Resin Dispenser is supplied with an adapter that allows the Resin Dispenser base and plates to dispense powders to microtiter plates. A Red or
Blue SiliCycle MiniBlock is needed to ensure everything lines up correctly (Figure 51). To dispense to microtiter plates:
1. Choose either a Red or Blue SiliCycle MiniBlock without reaction vessels. Remove both alignment plates and the Top Plate.
2. Place the microtiter plate adapter onto the SiliCycle MiniBlock by lining up the large hole with the large post. Take care to install the microtiter plate
adapter with the correct side up, as indicated by the color-coded marking on the adapter. This should match the color of the SiliCycle MiniBlock
being used.
3. Place the microtiter plate onto the adapter.
4. Place the resin dispenser body over the microtiter plate and plate adapter.
5. Insert a resin dispensing plate into the resin dispenser body and dispense resin, as described in section B.3.2 Dispensing Procedure.
Steps 1 - 5 will deliver powder to multiple positions of a standard microtiter plate. You must repeat the procedure with an opposite color plate
to deliver powders to the remaining positions.
