4: Chassis Setup and Maintenance

Chassis Maintenance

This section describes basic chassis maintenance.

System Fans

Seven hot-swappable, heavy-duty fans provide cooling for the chassis. These fans circulate air 
through the chassis as a means of lowering the internal temperature of the chassis (see 

Figure 4-5

)

.

The ISS3500 chassis fans are fully hot-swappable. In other words, fans may be removed and 
replaced without having to power down the server.
