Basic setting and Operating
Observe the instructions in the following section, "Basic settings", before switching on the
FMP1 for the first time and when making changes to the measurement setup.
6.1
Basic settings
Check if
the FMP1 has been installed properly and all screws are tight.
the sensors have been connected.
the electrical connections have been made in an orderly manner.
the supply voltage is protected by external fuses.
IMPORTANT NOTICE!
When you order a measurement amplifier together with a sensor from SIKA, the basic
settings of the amplifier are usually pre-configured for the sensor!
It may be necessary to alter these settings, depending on the application.
If changes to the basic settings are necessary, observe the instructions in § 6.5 "Device cali-
bration"
Resetting the device (zeroing the display):
There are two ways to zero the display.
Tare parameter for relatively large loads (measurement setup, tank, etc.).
ZERO function for relatively small loads (transducer offset) or the direct reset during
measurement.
6.2
Handling
Switching on and off:
The FMP1 does not have a power switch and cannot by itself be disconnected from the power
supply.
Switching on: connect the device to the power supply.
Switching off: disconnect the device from the power supply.
Switch on the supply voltage.
The digital display and the Led's light up briefly. Then the software version of the device
("r X.X") is displayed for ~ 3 seconds.
After this the device is ready for operation and shows the current reading.
IMPORTANT! Observe the warm-up time!
For better readout accuracy, it is recommended to allow the device to reach its normal
operating temperature.
Wait ~15…30 minutes after switching on the device before putting it into service.
