Function
The FMP1 measurement amplifier has a microprocessor with flash memory. It controls
all systems and manages the internal peripheral devices, such as the display and the
keys.
It performs computations on the signals sampled by the A/D converter. The computed value
is show on the display and transmitted on the analogue output.
The strain gauge input is supplied with a 5 V carrier signal.
A/D converter:
An intelligent component using sigma/delta technology amplifies and samples the signals.
The values sampled on the strain gauge input are proportional to the amplified reference
signal on the input.
The internal resolution of the A/D converter is ±19,999 steps. The standard 2 mV/V signal on
the strain gauge input is resolved into ±9,999 steps.
The maximum sampling rate is 300 Hz.
Software:
The software controls all device functions.
Additional functions:
An integrated digital filter enables adaptation to individual conditions, such as facilitating bet-
ter readout of values in applications subject to vibration.
The device has two user-programmable switching points as standard, which are used to
switch floating relay contacts. The switching hysteresis is programmable for each switching
point.
There are various functions for taring out weights and measuring peak forces or peak
weights.
