ZERO, PEAK and HOLD functions
The ZERO and PEAK functions are controlled by the corresponding keys on the device or by a
button or switch connected to the digital input. The HOLD function is only available via the
digital input.
If the digital input is used, it must be configured appropriately (
p. 49 "Digital input") and a
button or switch (
§ 5.5) must be connected.
ZERO function (zero display):
The function sets the display to zero as required. The ZERO LED indicates whether the func-
tion is activated or deactivated. The status of the ZERO function is saved internally and re-
stored after a restart.
Briefly pressing the ZERO key or the button on the digital input activates the function and ze-
ros the display. If the function is already activated, only the display is zeroed.
Pressing and holding the ZERO key or the button on the digital input for longer than 3 s deac-
tivates the function and causes the current reading to be displayed again.
PEAK function (peak value display):
This function displays positive or negative peak values. The device display blinks when this
function is activated.
Pressing the PEAK key or closing the switch on the digital input activates the function and
causes the current peak value to be displayed. The display is updated if a force or load ex-
ceeds the current peak value. The peak value can be zeroed by pressing the ZERO key.
When the display is blinking, pressing the PEAK key or opening the switch on the digital input
deactivates the function, and the current reading is again displayed.
RECOMMENDATION! Deactivate the digital filter and the analogue output.
The digital filter and the analogue output affect the response time of the device. We rec-
ommend deactivating the digital filter and the analogue output when the PEAK function is
use.
In the main menu, set the parameters for the digital filter ("FL" = "0") and the ana-
logue output ("Ao" = "diS") accordingly.
HOLD function (lock display):
The HOLD function locks the display and shows the reading present when the function is acti-
vated.
Closing the switch on the digital input activates the function. The display is locked and the
last reading is shown.
Opening the switch on the digital input deactivates the function, and the current reading is
again shown.
Notice to the PEAK and HOLD functions.
Device functions such as switching points or analogue output are not affected by the
PEAK and HOLD functions. However, the two functions are mutually exclusive.
