7.1.1 Emergency lid release
In the event of a power failure, it is possible to manually open the centrifuge
lid using two stoppers that are secured with screws. They are located on
the front of the bottom panel (see the illustration, item 1).

• Switch the centrifuge off via the mains power switch and unplug the
mains power plug.
• Unscrew the screws in the stoppers.
• Remove the stoppers (see the illustration below, item 1) from the
bottom panel, e.g. with a screwdriver.

• The stoppers are connected with a string. Pull the string in order to
release the lid.
• Then, seal the opening once again with the stopper and insert the
screws centrally.
WARNING
Do not unlock or open the lid unless the rotor is at a standstill.
If the lid is opened via the emergency lid release system during a centrifuge
run, the centrifuge will be switched off immediately and decelerate in an
unbraked manner.
