Introduction
The RUGGEDCOM RST2228 is a utility grade, fully managed, industrial Ethernet switch designed to operate reliably
in harsh environments. With a rugged metal enclosure and an optional conformal coating, the RUGGEDCOM
RST2228 provides a high level of immunity to electromagnetic interference and heavy electrical surges, and can
withstand temperatures between -40 and 85 °C (-40 and 185 °F).
Highly modular, the RUGGEDCOM RST2228 switch supports up to 28 electrical and/or optical interfaces with data
transfer rates of 10/100/1000 Mbit/s. This makes it the ideal industry-standard switch for constructing electrical
and/or optical line, ring and star topologies.
The RUGGEDCOM RST2228 switch is supported by RUGGEDCOM ROS, which provides advanced Layer 2
networking functions, and advanced cyber security features.
