Configuration info of the interfaces: information of configured interfaces (for
example, IP configuration of Ethernet ports and configuration of COM ports)
Status of connections: for example, normal, not configured, active, inactive
status of COM ports, Ethernet ports, relay output
Last restart: date and time of the last restart
Last configuration change: date and time of the last configuration change
Status of logging: active, inactive, active (modified) after on the fly configuration
changes have been set (by NW8204 tool)
Status of firewall: enabled or disabled, and the selected firewall configuration
Status of routing between ETH1 and ETH2: enabled or disabled
Routing Table: Kernel IP routing table
In the Advanced Commands page, some commands are also available for the
Admin user:
Set Date/Time: send to the NK8237 a user-defined time.
Set System Time: send to the NK8237 the PC system time.
Reset NK: reset the NK8237
Traceroute: execute the TRACEROUTE command to the specified IP from the
NK8237 (you can click Abort to stop the command execution).
Ping: execute the PING command to the specified IP from the NK8237.
Update Certificate: create a new self-signed Siemens SSL certificate (to load
the new certificate, restart the web browser). For information about SSL
certificates, see Secure communication for web services [➙ 40].

Correcting communication failures
11.5.1
IEC communication problems
Communication faults on the IEC may depend on different causes. The problem
can occur in the NK8237 unit or in the connections.
Check the NK8237
Check power, vital function, and diagnostic state of the corresponding LED located
on the front panel.
Note: If you need to modify the IP address because of a network change, you
might want to reset the device back to factory configuration by setting DIP-switch
1 or 2 to ON (see Internal DIP switches [➙ 18]) and then connect using the known
address to change the IP address.
Check the network connections (IEC TCP/IP)
LAN
Diagnostic information about the LAN state can be obtained from different
layers:
Link state LED of Repeater or Ethernet adapters gives you information about
the physical connection and the speed of the Ethernet link.
