5.4. MOUNTING
1 Lubricate the wheel rim and the beads thor-
oughly
2 Place the tyre on the rim and bring the head
against the rim to mount the first bead.
3 Place the upper bead on the mounting / dis-
mounting head, mount the bead pressing arm
(fig.40), adjust the position of the roller respect
to the edge of the circle with the knob (see
fig.40a), simultaneously place the roller and the
roller bead pressing arm close to the circle as
shown in fig. 40b
4 Press the lever down (fig. 41a) to lower the
presser roller below the upper edge of the
wheel. Press the rotation pedal (fig. 41b) and
mount the tyre (fig.41c).
The handling arms pose a potential crushing risk for the hands.
Always work with extreme caution.
5 During this stage in the procedure, the presser
roller (fig. 41c) keeps the bead inside the well
as it follows the rotating wheel, to mount the
bead correctly with no manual assistance from
the operator.
