Spark stand
Note
Be sure to tightly cover the hole of the sample plate with the sample.
A clearance between the sample plate and sample allows the air to
flow into the stand, causing abnormal discharge. In the same manner,
rough sample surface or flaws on the sample surface may cause the
air to flow into the stand.
Be sure to tightly hold the sample using the sample holder.
Tightly hold the sample over the hole of the sample plate with the
sample holder. Insufficient holding creates a clearance between the
sample and the sample plate; this may cause the air to flow into the
stand.
Never make the discharge toward an already created emission trace.
The discharge to an emission trace again will cause analytical
problems.
Analyze the circumferential part of the sample.
Generally, circumferential area is more uniform than the sample
center, allowing stable analysis.
