ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS

PRE-ASSEMBLY NOTES

The MC60RD (887738) or MC72RD (887739) Front Mount Mower can be assembled following
instructions in this section. The MC60RD (887738) unit is shown in all assembly photos. Except for
some part number differences, both the 6 and 72 inch models are the same.
All references to right and left, forward or rearward, used in this section refers to that direction when
seated in the tractor seat, facing forward.
All fasteners should be torqued as they are installed unless otherwise specified with the instructions.
See page 21 for correct torque for fastener size.
Refer to the Parts Illustration Section of this manual for assistance with specific parts identification
and location during mower assembly. When mower assembly is complete, check it against the Pre-
Deliver Checklist found on page 45, before unit delivery to the customer.
Locate the tractor on a firm and level surface near the mower crate and place the lift control lever in
the rear position. The weight transfer valve may also need to be turned fully counterclockwise to
assist lowering tractor lift arms. Shut off the engine and set the parking brake.
Remove the crate top and all packing ties and insulating material from the mower. Remove
assemblies and crossmember lift bar. Remove driveline and parts bag and lay all the wire corners
and remove the sides and the remainder of the crate.
Using an overhead hoist, lift and remove deck from pallet.  Block up the deck on all four corners with
blocks to obtain a height of three inches. Blocking of the deck is necessary to mount Wheel Strut
assemblies.

INSTALLING WHEEL STRUT ASSEMBLY

Wheel strut assemblies are pre-assembled in the
lowest position. Height adjustments will have to
be made after mounting wheel struts.
1. Position RH Wheel Strut on deck. Align strut
mounting holes with mounting brackets on deck.
Install four 1/2-13 x 3 bolts (1) with 1/2-13 lock-
nuts (2). Do not tighten hardware at this time.
2. Repeat step one to mount LH Wheel Strut,
using same hardware as called out above. Do
not tighten hardware.
3. Following the cutting height decal on the
mower deck, pre-adjust wheels to the same
height of cut. A three inch cutting height is
recommended for initial wheel settings.
