ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS - Continued
INSTALLING CROSSMEMBER LIFT BAR
1. Crossmember Lift Bar (1) is to be bolted
between the LH and RH Wheel Struts. On
MC72RD (887739) Crossmember ear extension
is to face the rear of deck. On MC60RD (887738)
Crossmember lift arm mounting ears face rear of
deck. Align holes of Crossmember with holes in
struts and install four 1/2-13 x 1 114 bolts (2)
with four 1/2 flatwashers (3) and four 1/2-13
locknuts (4). Only two 1/2 flatwashers (3) are
used on the MC72.
2. All hardware installed in the Wheel Struts and
the Crossrnember Lift Bar can be tightened at
this time. Make sure all hardware is torqued
according to the torque chart on page 20.
INSTALLING SCALP ROLLER & EARS
1. Scalp Roller Mounting Ears will need to be
installed on the MC72RD (887739) mower.
Mounting Ears (1) are to be bolted to the inside
of the brackets welded on the deck. Attach
Mounting Ears to the deck using 3/8-16 x 1 bolts
(2) and retain with 3/8-16 locknuts (3). Do not
tighten hardware at this time.
2. Align the Scalp Roller (4) with the Mounting
Ears (1) and install Pin (5). Retain pin using 1/8 x
1 1/2 cotter pins (6). Making sure that roller is
level. Tighten hardware. Make sure all hardware
is torqued according to the torque chart on page
21.
3. The 2 x 4 bolts used to block up the deck
should be removed at this time.
